Daniel Sanguinetti, Rio Negro's Secretary of State for Planning, attended the meeting together with representatives from academia, industry, trade unions, government, and civil society. They debated key social, environmental, and territorial aspects of the industrialisation of low-emission hydrogen within a sustainability framework.
The need to advance in the process of decarbonisation of the productive framework, climate change mitigation, and energy transition was also raised. Some issues related to water resources and the alternatives available for their use in hydrogen production were addressed, among other topics.
In this regard, Sanguinetti highlighted the national government's commitment to consolidate a process of sustainable development. "The purpose of such activities is to strengthen the strategic diagnosis at the national level, to give greater certainty to investments and projects, and to ensure consistency between production objectives and environmental considerations."
Therefore, he valued the great contribution that Río Negro makes in this area from the planning process of public policies aimed at environmental sustainability, and at productive and economic development of the province.
"Hydrogen is presented as a key vector of clean energy and as an input for industry, and Rio Negro is working hard and committed to the development of decarbonised industries, such as green hydrogen," he said.
"The province has a strategic potential for the contribution of low-emission hydrogen to the diversification of the country's production and export matrix, and for this reason it has become a key player in the National Hydrogen Strategy," he added.
The agency's Coordination Secretary, Natalia Pretz, and the Director of Administration and Human Resources, Agustín Canosa were present at the meeting.
