The delegation was received by President Alberto Fernández, in Buenos Aires; and Governor Arabela Carreras and Mayor Gustavo Gennuso, in the province.
Last Tuesday, after the reception by the Governor of the Province of Río Negro, the delegation started its formal tour of the candidate city. "Bariloche is part of the sustainable project we are creating as a province. It is the core of science and technology; and it has a great experience in terms of expo legacy", explained Carreras.
In this regard, Carreras emphasized that the proposal represents a great opportunity for the country, and it is reflected in the whole region because it is the only Latin American candidacy that is being considered today, to organize an event of such importance.
"For Argentina, to fulfill the pending dream of organizing an Expo is also to be able to show that developing countries can be leaders in dialogue and meetings between nations", she said and emphasized that "the city will experience a transformation that will create optimal conditions that will help improve the quality of life of its people and development, on the basis of a modern, sustainable and inclusive urban platform".
Then, the National Minister of Tourism, Matías Lammens, and the doctor in Biological Sciences and CONICET researcher, Diego Andrés Golombek, made their respective contributions, which complemented the different presentations that dealt with various aspects of the initiative Expo 2027 Bariloche.
This delegation, headed by the Secretary General of the BIE, Dimitri Kerkentzes, was also guided by the Secretary of State for Planning of the province, Daniel Sanguinetti, among other provincial and local authorities.
The tour included visits to INVAP, the Bariloche Technological Park -the site chosen for Expo 2027-, universities and different areas and buildings in Bariloche.
Specialized Expo 2027
It is considered an important region due to its great scientific and technological development, and under the slogan " Naturaleza y Tecnología, un Nuevo Comienzo" ("Nature and Technology, a New Beginning"), Bariloche aims at getting the place and therefore, providing the first step to make possible an association between modern cities and nature.
The change of paradigm that the world needs will only work with a different look from and towards people themselves; their economy, their activities, their social codes, the enjoyment of life itself, respect and equality.
For Bariloche, the expectations of the legacy are huge; the city will experience a transformation that will leave it in an excellent situation for the quality of life of citizens and to continue its development.
The opportunity will not only allow the town to considerably increase the flow of tourists from the country and abroad for three months, but will also strengthen its scientific, technological and productive profile.
