Governor Carreras and President Fernández discussed Bariloche's candidacy to be the venue for Expo 2027
President, Alberto Fernández, Governor Arabela Carreras and National Senator, Alberto Weretilneck, considered the proposal of Bariloche to become the venue of the Specialized Expo 2027, during a meeting held yesterday, in the context of a comprehensive agenda.

Expo 2027, supervised and approved by the International Bureau of Expositions (BIE), involves the coordination of actions of the National, Provincial and Municipal jurisdictions, which work together to win Bariloche's candidacy.
The candidacy project has been submitted at various stages and still has a year to go before being finally selected.
During the month of June, the Organization officially presented the candidacy at the national level to Argentine ambassadors around the world, who will be key actors when the BIE member states vote.
In addition, Argentina presented the dossier to the General Secretary of the BIE, Dimitri Kerkentzes, when the national delegation made its presentation to the General Assembly in Paris. This is the first of three presentations in which Argentina will have to support its candidacy. The following presentations will be in November 2022 and June 2023, when the definitive and winning host city will be announced.
The world is going through a very deep energy crisis and climate change is showing its consequences in different regions of the world. In this context, Argentina, Río Negro and Bariloche have decided to take a leading role in the production of renewable energies, finding in green hydrogen a viable alternative in the framework of the world energy transition.
Proposing Bariloche to be the venue of an event with the characteristics of the International Specialized Expo 2027 will allow, on the one hand, placing the city and its technological innovation ecosystem in the international scenario. On the other hand, bringing a proposal with a Latin American perspective, promoting a new beginning for humanity and guaranteeing the quality of life of a growing population; and, at the same time, taking care of biodiversity and the environment.
Expo 2027 is one of the most important events in the world and because of its significance; the organization requires a great logistical effort and a special coordination, which would represent an unprecedented event for our country, our province and our region.
