The Government presented the provincial project of Green Hydrogen production at the Legislature

This morning, the Secretary of State for Planning, Daniel Sanguinetti, presented to the plenary of commissions in the Legislature, the main outlines of the provincial Green Hydrogen Production Project, in the context of the declaration of provincial public interest of the initiative presented by the company Fortescue Future Industries.

The official referred to the development of the new energy paradigm in the province, reviewing the provincial, national and international background, with special emphasis on the strengths of the territory of Río Negro as a strategic point for the production of H2V. 

The existence of unique natural resources, promoted by the development of an adequate infrastructure, the setting up of a free zone in Sierra Grande and a port in Punta Colorada according to the needs, in addition to the benefits provided by a unique scientific and technological nucleus; and an economically organized province, were some of the comparative advantages that the official highlighted in his presentation. 

He also referred to the four fundamental principles of the H2V Strategic Plan: energy security, environmental sustainability, efficiency and competence, and social inclusion and employment; and stated that it is a project that strengthens provincial integration, regional potentialities and urban and territorial development.

Juan Carlos Bolcich, President of the Argentine Hydrogen Association, also attended the presentation as a virtual guest, who provided technical details and answered questions from the provincial legislators.

The Minister of Economy, Luis Vaisberg; the General Secretary, José María Apud; the Legal and Technical Secretary, Guillermo Ceballos; and the Executive Manager of the RN Invierte agency, Gonzalo Medina Cabrera, also attended on behalf of the Government.
