It was announced an investment project for the production of Green Hydrogen in Río Negro

Governor Arabela Carreras led today, together with the country´s Minister of Productive Development, Matías Kulfas and the CEO of the international company Fortescue Future Industries, Julie Shuttleworth, the announcement of the investment project to be carried out by the Australian company for the production of green hydrogen in Río Negro.

The meeting was also attended by the head of the company in the Latin American Region, Agustín Pichot, the advisor to the Ministry of Productive Development, Marcelo Kloster, and the Government and Community Manager for Latin America, Sebastián Delgui.

"After more than a year of working together with the National Government and the company, we have reached an important level of advance that allows us to announce the investments in our territory", remarked Carreras.

The Governor also gave details of the strategic plan that the Province is carrying out to advance in the scientific, academic and productive development of green hydrogen in Argentina.

According to her, the Government has been planning and implementing measures with the aim of bringing large investments that allow a change in the productive matrix of Rio Negro, strengthening the bond with producers of clean energy and allowing to insert in a global economy, which generates genuine employment and makes a great contribution to the environment.

Minister Kulfas said that "we are seeing that progress is being made. We are taking steps so that this project can be carried out. In the next few days we will execute an agreement to determine the free zone".

"The whole province will be strongly favored with jobs, exports, with positive contributions for society due to climate changes. It is about generating the fuels of the future" he added.

Finally, the CEO of the international company, Julie Shuttleworth, stated that "this project is very important, the planet is warming and measures must be taken. Fortescue is focused on all green energies in order to improve the quality of life in the future.

"The most important thing is that it can be produced in places where there are no other fuels. It is done with natural resources, such as wind and in Rio Negro that is very good and brings a lot of opportunity for the local people."

The presentation was attended by Vice-Governor Alejandro Palmieri, Mayor of Viedma, Pedro Pesatti, Minister of Economy, Luis Vaisberg, Secretary of Labour, Jorge Stopiello, Secretary of State Daniel Sanguinetti, Secretary of Legal and Technique, Guillermo Ceballos, Executive Manager of “RN Invierte”, Gonzalo Medina Cabrera, the legislators Facundo López, María Eugenia Martini and Nicolás Rochas, among others.
